Challenge Day Rack

I rec'd this rear rack from Kelvin at Angletech recently. It is the new Challenge Day Rack. I can't seem to figure out how to mount it to my Taifun. My initial attempts have not worked out. If you have a new Challenge bent with this rack on it could you send me some pics showing how it was mounted?

It mounts to the seat, doesn't it? You'll probably have to drill holes in the side plates.

Yes it mounts to the seat and I am prepared to drill holes in it, but you are constrained by where the four mounting points are and the available spots on the seat to mount to that will keep the rack level and stay out of the way of the suspension components.

I've tried every conceivable option and haven't found one that worked. I was hoping that an actual picture would give me some insight.

Hey Vik. I'm not sure if you've got resources or not, but where I work, we've got a full machine shop and even a laser cutter. I've made aluminum brackets for my bikes before and they are sweet. I'm a millwright by trade and worked in the machine shop for 3 years and have been on the tools all my life. If you ever need a hand with anything, I'd be glad to help, and I've got access to some pretty sweet tools to do so. Really, if you don't mind the drive out here, I certainly don't mind giving you a hand. Cheers.

Thanks Jeremy...I'm not sure there is an easy solution even with a bracket, but I'm certainly open to suggestions. Maybe I'll try and drive out so you can see what the bike and rack look like and we'll chat about the possibilities. Maybe we can even sneak in a ride!

Does after work one day next week work?

I'll post a pic on blog of what I am really after so you'll know what the desired end state is!

=-)
