My wife and I ride a couple thousand miles a year on our upright tandem and attend a few tandem events. One of the overwhelming attributes of these events is "family values" and/or "couple values."
My wife and I toured the Colorado Rockies this Summer with a tandem tour group and there were numerous quads and triplets in attendance. :)
